Used in the pharmaceutical industry | Strontium bromide has two kinds of anhydrous and hexahydrate. The anhydrous substance is a white hexagonal needle, which is hygroscopic. The melting point is 643 ℃, thermal decomposition occurs when it is higher than the melting point, and the relative density is 4.216(24/4 ℃). Easily soluble in water, soluble in ethanol. Its hexahydrate is white or colorless needle, hygroscopic, melting point 88.2 ℃, relative density 2.386(25/4 ℃), easily soluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol and pentanol, insoluble in ether. Can absorb ammonia. Dissolve in its crystalline water when heated, and lose all crystalline water when it is higher than 180 ℃. Preparation method: Dissolve strontium carbonate in hydrobromic acid, and the obtained solution evaporates and crystallizes at room temperature to obtain hexahydrate. The anhydrous can be obtained by heating the hexahydrate and adding ammonium bromide to reheat. Uses: Used in pharmaceutical industry and laboratory reagents. (2016-01-13) |
